CSU Specialist

HRCSB is seeking a qualified mental health professional (QMHP) who is motivated to assist residents in skill development through group and individual activities. Arbor House is a short-term, 7-bed crisis stabilization program working with folks to avoid psychiatric hospitalization, or stepping down from hospital setting before returning home. Duties include assisting in creating a welcoming and safe space for residents to develop and enhance their skills in managing their psychiatric crisis, providing coaching and psychoeducation, assisting with meal preparation and community outings. Candidates must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).

ACT Program Assistant

Come join the Assertive Community Treatment team! HRCSB is looking for a Program Assistant to join the ACT team. The Program Assistant is a key player in supporting the ACT team members and day-to-day program operations. This position will provide office based administrative support to the ACT program. This will include clerical duties, record keeping, insurance authorization, scheduling, data collection and entry, and other duties to support the daily functions of the ACT program. Organization skills, attention to detail, experience with spreadsheet and word processing software, and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of other roles and agencies are essential to this position. Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, intellectual disability concepts, and basic understanding of practices such as Housing First, Motivation Interviewing, Harm Reduction and Trauma Informed Care is a plus. This position requires a High School diploma with the equivalent of two years of administrative and/or clerical experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

CSU Coordinator

The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community Services Board is seeking an experienced candidate to serve as the Coordinator of Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) – Arbor House. Arbor House is a 24/7 residential crisis program that serves adults experiencing a mental health crisis. This position provides program leadership and oversight to the daily operations, including but not limited admission and discharge planning and coordination of care for residents of the CSU. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral format. Bachelors level in Human Services plus one year of experience in the human services field. Must be eligible to register as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Professional) with equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Master’s Level Licensed eligible/Licensure Preferred. Preferred candidates will have a history of supervisory experience and/or experience in Crisis Services.

Hospital Liaison Coordinator

HRCSB is seeking qualified individual to fill the new position of the Hospital Liaison Coordinator. This position’s primary responsibility is to work closely with regional partners and state psychiatric facilities in order to plan discharge services for individuals with Serious Mental Illness. This position includes creating and maintaining Discharge Assistance Plans and conditional release plans. The Hospital Liaison Coordinator will supervise the work of an additional Hospital Liaison, and oversee the work of Competency Restoration Specialists. The qualified candidate must have at least two years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently and manage a team. Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field. Experience working with psychiatric service planning, forensic service planning and/or discharge planning is preferred. This is a full-time, salaried position. Supervision towards certification or licensure can be provided.

Overnight Residential Relief Staff

Residential Overnight Hourly Staff provide direct client services to the residents of Community Services Board operated supervised living residential services. Clients are adults with mental illness in recovery. Position requires: working knowledge of psychology, counseling and/or social work; mental illness and substance abuse; ability to work effectively with clients and service providers in the community. Services include on-site support and supervision. Residential Overnight Hourly Staff commit to a regular schedule and also fill in for other regularly scheduled staff in order to ensure staffing coverage to meet the needs of the residents. The typical shifts are overnights 9:45 PM – 7:15 AM at Market Street House. The position is awake.

Residential Relief Staff

Looking for an hourly position that fits around your current school or work schedule? Would you like to earn hours towards credentialing in the Mental Health field? HRCSB now has an opening for an hourly, part-time staff to provide direct services to the residents of CSB operated supervised residential program. Services are provided 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Relief staff work hours are primarily evenings and weekends. Duties include direct training and support to residents to improve their community living skills; supportive and/or educational counseling; crisis intervention; providing skill building activities to promote community integration. Position requires working knowledge of mental illness and/or substance use; and the ability to work effectively with clients and service providers in the community. Valid Virginia driver’s license and good driving record required. Bachelor’s degree in a human services related field or equivalent coursework required. Position open until filled.

ACT Co-Occurring Disorders Specialist

HRCSB is seeking a qualified individual to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team as the Co-occurring Disorders Specialist. Our ACT team, in a partnership with our Permanent Supportive Housing program, will provide community based wrap around services to individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders who are in need of stable housing. The specific team role of Co-occurring Disorders Specialist, in coordination with the ACT Team Supervisor, is to serve as the ACT Team liaison in supporting clients in achieving outcomes related to substance use recovery.

If you enjoy being active and working one-on-one with others then this position could be a great fit for you. An ACT specialist models, teaches and coaches individuals in the skills individuals need to live meaningful lives in the community. Skill building interventions may include budgeting, community integration, coaching on ADL’s, monitoring and accessing health and wellness resources, medication compliance, and time management.

As the Co-occurring Disorders Specialist you will link clients to community recovery supports using motivational interviewing, harm reduction and person centered support. You will ensure integration of substance use treatment with clients’ goals and treatment planning.

We are looking for applicants with knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders; ability to work effectively individually and on a team; passion for supporting others; along with good time management. Current valid Virginia driver’s license required. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services or a related specialty. Two years of experience with SMI/SUD population required. CSAC is a plus but not required. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

Duties include standard nursing practices, as well as working with team of mental health professionals to ensure high quality care to those experiencing a psychiatric crisis. This position provides opportunities for engaging on an individual level, facilitating teaching moments, and life skill development outside of general nursing duties. Candidates must be registered and in good standing with the Virginia Board of Health Professions as a Licensed Practical Nurse or as a Registered Nurse.
